A Koe Wetzel show is all about face value — what you see is what you get, and what you get is a gutsy, gritty mix of rough-edged rock 'n' roll and tough, twangy country influences. Wetzel and company bring a bar-band sensibility to every venue, in the best possible way. In other words, even though the Texas singer-songwriter's tunes cover a broad spectrum of topics and encompass all kinds of emotions, the primary goal of a Koe Wetzel show is to give the audience a good time. If you're looking for a show where the audience sits there still and stone-faced, absorbing the songs from an academic distance, you'd better try someplace else, because that sure isn't happening at a Koe Wetzel concert. You can sense his grassroots fan base in the way he seems to be pulling the crowd right into the fun he's having. If you're up for a roof-raising party with a band that values raw, honest excitement above all else, then saddle up for a wild ride.

Koe Wetzel doesn't wait around to find a musical trend to latch onto in hopes of scoring a big payday. He's been a lifer from the beginning, a real-deal, deep-down, play-it-like-you-feel-it kind of musician. And the sound this East Texas singer, songwriter and guitarist feels in his gut is an organic, unvarnished mix of rough-and-tumble rock 'n' roll and the country roots that arrive as part of your birthright when you're lucky enough to be born a Texan. Backed by a tight band of brothers, Wetzel started taking that sound to the stage and eventually honed it enough to release his first album, Noise Complaint, in 2016. Three years later, he and his band followed that record up with Harold Saul High, delivering an even more accomplished blend of rock 'n' roll excitement and country storytelling, shot through with a down-to-earth sense of humor.
